Stephen L. Simonton
Throughout
more than 30 years as an attorney, Steve has built an excellent
track record for helping people. Steve's practice focuses on catastrophic
personal injury and wrongful death as well as commercial litigation.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Allegheny College in 1964, Steve graduated from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 1967. The following year, he was admitted to practice law in the Federal and State courts in Wyoming.
Steve served in JAG with the U.S. Air Force for five years. In 1973 he opened a law office in Cody, where he practiced until 1975, when his brother George joined him to form the firm SIMONTON AND SIMONTON. In September 2005 he formed his own Law Firm Stephen L. Simonton, P. C.
Steve has been awarded the highest professional conduct rating of "AV" by his peers and Martindale-Hubbell. His career includes work as a public defender from 1973 to 1975 and as a Deputy County Attorney, 1975-82. He has served as an officer and as president of the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association. He continues to serve on the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association Board of Directors.
Steve's work in community service includes 15 years as a volunteer fireman, 10 years on the West Park Hospital District Board of Trustees and eight years on the Park County Travel Council, which distributes lodging tax funds to community events.
When he is not working for his clients, Steve enjoys visiting with his children, fly fishing, touring on his motorcycle and horseback riding.
